The 5 Choices – The Path To Extraordinary Productivity

In 1989 Stephen Covey published a long time best seller called The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. In that book he discussed the use of an Importance/Urgency matrix that could be used to focus on what was important and avoid being driven merely by what was urgent. The matrix was originally invented by former President Dwight D. Eisenhower and was called the Eisenhower Box.

Expanding on Eisenhower’s original concept a new book has come out which uses the same importance/urgency analysis but adds a new twist: it focuses on how we make Decisions, how we manage our Attention and how we manage our Energy.

The book also addresses how to optimally use modern technology, especially social media and how to avoid wasting time and energy by failing to properly manage those resources.

Franklin Covey, the company that has been a leader in time management planners and software has now launched this new book and product line called The 5 Choices – The Path To Extraordinary Productivity. The book is written by Kori Logon, Adam Merrill and Leena Rinne.

You can read a review of the book at the LeadershipNow.com blog posted on 12.29.14.
